I went for coaching as I had a strong belief
that I was meant to be doing something more vital with my life
than what I was doing at the time. At the time, I had a very successful
career but was unfulfilled. The problem was that I didn't know
what that "something" was.
I had no previous experience of coaching and didn't know what
to expect. I now realise that coaching enables you to open up
your mind and thoughts to someone who has no preconceived ideas
about you nor any "vested interest" in the future direction
of your life. To be clear, the sessions though are not a talking
shop. The purpose is to achieve a result.
The result for me was a change of profession to become a school
teacher. I am clear that being a teacher is what my vocation in
life was meant to be. I'm equally clear that the remainder of
my working life (another 20-30 years) will be so much more fulfilled.
It will not come as a surprise that I believe that provided you
are serious about changing an aspect of your life coaching is
definitely worthwhile.
